October Playlist

New month = new music. I try every year to listen to something somewhat Halloween when October hits but I always fail. The only thing even somewhat Halloween that Ive listened to is Thriller over and over again simply because its a part of a haunted house/dance group thing I do (no, I don't dance. Im not a coordinated, functioning human). This month's playlist is a little faster and more upbeat so you won't fall asleep while you're on your way to the next concert. You're welcome.
By the way, if you know of any good songs to put on the next playlist please let me know ! Thanks, darlin'.

Pit Stop

After Bonnaroo, you're gonna need a place to stop and eat on the way to your next show. I don't know about you but I like small town restaurants over places like McDonald's or Arby's. I want good (real) food. Way down in good 'ol Nashville, Tennessee, that good food exists. Plopped down on 2834 Azalea Pl, there is a little vegetarian cafe called Sunflower Cafe. Nothing is too expensive and the cafe has nothing but good reviews. Even if you are not vegetarian, there are meals that are great with it's substitutes (Veggie burgers and salads, salads and more salads). They're open 11am to 8pm Monday through Thursday and 11 am to 9 pm Friday and Saturday.
If you looking for something with a little more meat, there are tons of options but I would try Bosky's Grille in Manchester. I will put links to both restaurants. If you happen to stop and try either, come back here and make some suggestions (:

Artist Spotlight

A lot of times, an artist spotlight features an interview with that artist but I can't exactly provide that for now (sorry). My artist spotlight is simply going to feature just an artist Ive either loved for a while or just recently got into that is not very popular.
This artist is a little 22-year-old Bristol based artist named George Ezra. He has a very Bob Dylan sound (which is probably why I like him). He began to get noticed when he released his song Budapest and that's when I found him. He released his LP Wanted On Voyage in 2013 and it debuted at #3 on the British Billboard and earned him a Brit nomination by December. I will add a link to his social media and his music on itunes. Enjoy (:

Bonnaroo

For years, it has been a dream of mine to go to Bonnaroo. The line-up is always phenomenal and it's always guaranteed to be a blast. Taking place usually in June, this festival usually brings in around 80,000 people. On a 530 acre plot of land, there are multiple stages and multiple genres all being presented at once. Last year's festival had over 90,000 show up.
The reason I love this festival is it has something for everyone. The show incorporates indie, classic rock, jazz, americana, bluegrass, country, reggae, pop, electronica and tons more but you get the idea. The line-up last year featured artists like Kanye West, Elton John, Twenty One Pilots, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, Yonder Mountain String Band, BØRNS, Florence + The Machine and like, hundreds more.
There are different locations around the farm.
There is Centeroo, which is where various merchants areas are placed and where the festival usually has the most action.
"What Stage" is the largest stage and is used for the main acts. The main acts usually perform from noon until midnight.
"Which Stage" is where the openers perform before the main act performs on "What Stage" and then the late night acts perform back on "Which Stage".
"This Tent" along with "That Tent" and "The Other Tent" is where smaller acts perform and where the annual Superjam takes place.  Superjam is a combination of different acts rolled into one act. Last year's Superjam featured Skrillex.
Smaller stages and tents are scattered around the farm. These include "Lunar Stage", "Solar Stage", "Cinema Stage", "Comedy Tent" and "Who Stage".
There is a graffiti wall that separates the festival itself from the on-farm campsites. Because this is a multiple day event (usually 3), many people want to stay on the farm so there is a place for you to set up shop right there.
Nothing sounds more fun to me than this festival and if I were to begin this road trip, Bonnaroo would be my first stop.
There are a lot other activities that would take ages for me to mention so I'll give you the link so you can check it out for yourself (Bonnaroo). You can also buy your tickets on the site, too. If you go, you should totally let me tag along.

Also, here is an article written in Rolling Stone about their Bonnaroo experience in case you need a second opinion: 50 Best Things We Saw at Bonnaroo

September Playlist

When I'm in the car, I always have earbuds in or the auxiliary plugged in with my hand out the window. Driving is my favorite pastime and I can't do it without music. So for this road trip, of course I'm going to provide music!
Im not very picky on what genre I listen to. If a song is catchy (instrumentally or lyrically) then I'll add it to my playlist no matter what genre it falls in. This month's playlist, however, is very alternative. Here ya go, kiddos.
